November 28, Wilhelmina Bay

Wilhelmina Bay is another large bay on the coast of the Antarctic Peninsula. In Wilhelmina bay we saw sea ice and quite a few animals.

Some people in our group saw Minke whales, but I saw birds and seals. These arctic terns are fishing.

On the sea ice we saw an Adelie penguin.

Then we saw a seal.

And finally, an emperor penguin. Emperor penguins are very uncommon in this part of Antarctica, so we were very lucky to see it. It was kept trumpeting even though it was all alone.
