Our final stop in Antarctica was at Half-Moon Island, near an Argentine base, and home to a colony of chinstrap penguins, the occasional Adelie penguin, and a number of seals.
The base is currently on loan to Brazilian researchers, since the Brazilian base burned down recently.
The chinstrap penguins are nice, but the colony is much smaller than the one at Baily Head.
This Adelie penguin seemed comfortable among the chinstrap penguins.
And so did this Gentoo penguin.
A number of Weddel seals were resting on one corner of Half-Moon island.
A baby elephant seal was resting on one of the beaches.
After a while, the clouds parted and we could see in the distance.
